500 - Sunday January 25, 1925

Warm today. Girls went to S.S.
B. went to S.S. + church.

We went to Vernon's today. Had dinner there.
Nellie is the very least prepared to serve meals but she is the only one who ever asks us to a meal1.

Nellie, Jim, B. + I played 500, won 5 games2 each and B. + Nellie won the rubber, had coffee and cake + came home at 12:15.
It was as warm as a spring night.

1. This comment just made me giggle.
2. 500 was created in the early 1900s as a card game based on Euchre, copy-written by the US Playing Card Co, and is now the national card game of Australia. There are 3 versions, Australian, American, and Canadian with variations listed from Minnesota and (coincidentally) from Youngstown Ohio. She refers to the series of games as the "rubber" similar to playing bridge.
